Pastor Joe

I was born in Hamilton Ohio, December 1942. I married my wife Phyllis
September 12, 1962 and have been married now 46 years.

In my mother's womb God called me to preach his gospel. I didn't know
this until years after I began ministry. As my mother and I were going to
a revival service and she explained that she had written my Dad
(stationed in China during the war) that she was carrying a preacher.
When I was a child I used to preach to my siblings and anyone else that
would listen. My first verse I ever memorized was Romans 13:1. When I
was 15 I excepted the Lord but as I grew older I had to sow my wild
oats, what a mistake! In 1975, I finally turned my life over to the Lord
and in October 1977 I was ordained into the ministry.

I worked as an Associate Pastor until July 1, 1979.  I began my first
pastorate in a small church running about 15 people. God blessed the
ministry and the church grew until we ran out of room in the church.
I felt God calling me to Florida, and on August 15, 1984, my wife Phyllis
and I, moved to Apopka.  We began a church in September of '84 and
by Easter of '85 were running over 100 in attendance.

After ministering in the independent work for many years I joined and
was ordained in the Church of God in 1987, beginning my first pastorate
in 1988. I came to Chiefland in 2000 to pastor The North Chiefland
Church of God, where I am presently ministering.
